I will never be over Yuri on Ice’s accurate depiction of clinical anxiety. There’s a scene in particular that really hit home for me and that I really resonated with. In the scene where Yuri is having a mental breakdown in the parking garage, he tells Victor that he’s been wondering if he secretly wants to quit. While Victor is reassuring him and telling him that that’s not true, Yuri cries out, “I KNOW!” People with clinical anxiety know that their fears are irrational, but they can’t stop thinking that they’re true. They can’t stop worrying about them. And it’s frustrating to them.
